Apple - just smarter -
Innovative right down to the power cord
The new power adapter with MagSafe connector is just that: a magnetic connection instead of a physical one. So, tripping over a power cord won’t send MacBook Pro flying off a table or desk; the cord simply breaks cleanly away, without damage to either the cord or the system. As an added nicety, this means less wear on the connectors.

Comments:
Now, Apples might be magnetic, but the idea is clearly not theirs - and could this be a first? That Apple stole the idea from.. Microsoft? Yes, indeed, the original XBox had a similar system to avoid people tripping over the cords to the controllers. Don't know how well it worked, but they were first. For once..

Good point ! But well my opnion is that most stuff is already invented - but never used in the igth way (in my opinion).
